I WANT TO DIVORCE MY WIFE OTHERWISE SHE WILL ME - MAN CRIES OUT

1219-0-cry
A Delta State based businessman has dragged his wife before an Asaba High Court, seeking divorce over acts of allegedly sleeping around with men and fighting her husband without shame.
While testifying at the court, the husband said that “my wife wants to kill me, she fights me every day, and she is a harlot. I can no more continue with the marriage for the above reasons and even more.”
The man told the court that because of her sleeping around with other men, he is banned by his tradition to eat her food and she should not even touch his clothes.
The angry husband revealed that he married the lady after the death of his first wife and that he re-married so that his present wife will help bring up his four children that he had with his late wife.
His words: “I married my wife in 1998 and did the church wedding at Catholic Church of Assumption, Zappa, in Asaba. Since then, we have two children; a boy and a girl, but this woman always threatens to kill me, she fights me at every chance… She vowed that she must kill me and she sent all my children packing, I cannot continue with the marriage.
“It came to a climax on January 17, 2016, when she took something and hit my head in an attempt to kill me, so that I would not be able to pursue the divorce case in court, but thank God, her mission did not come to reality as I overcame her plan.
“She is a harlot… I cannot eat her food again because she is a harlot. It is against my tradition and I want the marriage dissolved before she kills me.”
As usual with such women, when the judge asked her about the issues raised by the husband, she denied and asked, “what will make me to fight or attempt to kill my husband? We stay in the same house, sleep on the same bed, I am taking good care of him, but I don’t know what is wrong.”
The judge has adjourned the case to February 17, 2016, for judgement.

OPEN SEASON OF BEEFS IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY "TIMELINE OF ASSAULTS"

The first of its kind was the Davido and his babymama dispute. Before the hilarious dispute hit news stands in the concluding part of 2016, reports had it that the HKN boss, Davido and the Momodu dynasty were already engaged in a closed door feud.
What brought the initial closed door dispute to limelight was Sophia’s gross parental incapacitation, which greatly affected Imade’s health, Davido and Sophia Momodu’s out of wedlock born daughter.

Don Jazzy vs Olamide

Shockingly, the very first day of 2016 was a bit dramatic for the entertainment industry. Olamide Adedeji, a.k.a ‘Olamide badoo’ and Don Jazzy, threw tantrums at each other at the 10th edition of the Headies Awards.

The YBNL boss climbed the Headies stage to express his discontent on the Next Rated Award Category given to Mavin signee, Reekado Banks. Don Jazzy promptly responded to Olamide’s reaction when he climbed the stage to receive a Special Recognition Award. The feud has long been resolved.

Dammy Krane vs Wizkid

Subsequently, it began to look like the entertainment industry was being bewitched. Shortly after the Olamide/Don Jazzy drama, Dammy Krane took to his social media page to accuse Wizkid of stealing his lyrics and slangs, which Wizkid used in one of his songs.
The duo even went as far as engaging in a physical brawl at Quilox Night Club. Owner of the club, Shina Peller orchestrated the settlement of this disgraceful incident between the two music stars.

Blackface vs Wizkid

After Dammy Krane and Wizkid’s fight, it seemed the music industry had been destined to crumble with scandals and controversies. Erstwhile rapper of the defunct Plantashun Boyz, Blackface, also publicly accused Wizkid of stealing his song. The dancehall, ragga and reggae artiste claimed that Wizkid’s ‘Ojuelegba’ is replete with his (Blackface’s) lyrics.
The rapper who has been behind the scenes in the music industry for some time now has been accused by music lovers of being a social climber, seeking public attention because he needs to reintegrate into the entertainment circle.

Chioma Akpotha vs Uche Jumbo and others Like a premeditated Nollywood script, some Nollywood stars have joined in the series of beefs making the headlines in 2016. No one saw it coming when Chioma Akpotha took to Twitter and tweeted a picture of Blessing Egbe, Uche Jumbo, Emem Isong, Ufuoma Mc-Dermott and Omoni Oboli with the statement: “Sometimes, sisters aren’t really sisters #2016Mindingmyownbusiness #Stayingonmylane #Movingon.

No one really knows what prompted the twitter outburst but the actresses who are in the picture didn’t find it flattering as they have all responded to her tweet.
Blessing Effiom Egbe puts it this way: “And you know this because? If this is your way of announcing your interest? You don fail be that”

Omoni Oboli was much more direct in her response: “Ok, what is all this about? Minding your business by posting my picture? #TooEarlyInTheYear
Ufuoma McDermott put hers this way: “See trouble oo! Too early in the year for this please! Really what a way to mind your business”
Uche Jumbo Rodriguez’s response came straight from the heart: “Shaking my head to all these rubbish I am seeing. No words! You have my number, don’t let the devil use you”
The social media is agog with questions stemming from Chioma’s tweet with everyone asking what prompted her Twitter outburst.

Cynthia Morgan vs Davido

Dancehall star, Cynthia Morgan clinched the best dancehall act at the 2015 Headies. However, she took to her Snapchat platform cursing Davido for endorsing Lil Kesh as his favourite Next Rated artiste. She used a derogatory word in describing him and also took shots at his label mates.
Observers in the entertainment circle were expecting Davido to lash out at her in a more condescending manner, He however took another route. He simply said: “I hope you reach where I have conquered”

Blackface vs 2face

Blackface, a member of the defunct Plantashun Boyz took to Twitter to express his aversion for how 2face allegedly stole his song. He stated that his former partner 2face stole from him .He also threatens to sue the African Queen sensation. Recall that Let somebody love you is a song on 2face’s Ascension album and features Bridget Kelly.

2face in a recent interview was asked what his thoughts were about Blackface’s allegation. He simply said: “It is just so unfortunate. I do not know where it is coming from but I am trying to think of different reasons. We will trash the whole matter but I got nothing but love and respect for him and it is just so unfortunate that he is coming at me like that”.

BASE ONE- I WILL BEAT UP ANYONE WHO DISSES ME ON A TRACK

Following his recent interview on TV, Aquila record artiste, Baseone, shared his thoughts on most of the beefs that has rocked the Nigerian entertainment industry since the beginning of this year.

According to Baseone, there is absolutely no good reason for the beef between Vector and Ycee, to have started in the first place. The singer later added that Vector, is someone Ycee has to respect, given the fact that he (Vector) has been in the music industry much longer than Ycee.

Baseone, also used the opportunity to warn any artiste that might want to diss him on their track, making it clear that he is not to be toyed with. I will beat anyone who try that sh!t with me 😞😞😞

LOLZZZZZ!!!!!!! DON JAZZY TWEETS AT ALAMIDE CONCERNING KANYE WEST AND WIZ KHALIFA BEEF

Don Jazzy tweeted at Olamide following Wiz Khalifa and Kanye West beef.

What Had happened was Kanye changed the name of his album several times and when he finally picked the name WAVE, WizKhalifa wasnt pleased as he took to twitter to ask him not to take the WAVE. Why?

He is heavily influenced by rapper Max B who is known for the Wave Movement. When Khalifa was done, he talked about hitting that KK (Khalifa Kush) and Kanye thought he was talking about his wife. Kim Kardashian.

Kanye got pissed and slammed the rapper who clapped back at him leading Nigeria’s Donjazzy to ask fans to pray for 2016.

He cc’d his top rival Olamide and that caught our attention.

SOUTH AFRICAN MAN SENTENCED TO 18 YEARS FOR RAPING HIS 8 YEARS OLD YOUNGER SISTER

The 26-year-old accused person, who was not named to protect the victim, allegedly committed the offence after the child was brought to live with him, following the death of their mother in 2012.

But he pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Mpumalanga man supposedly committed the offence on November 13, 2012, and was caught by community members who reported him to police, a Nelspruit Regional Court heard.

According to the magistrate, the act occurred in two different locations, Pienaar and in Nhlazatshe.

However, the accused continued to maintain his innocence, despite the prosecution calling four witnesses, including his younger brother, who testified against him.

While delivering its judgment, the court held that: “You were her caregiver. But you took advantage of the situation to $exually abuse her after she was brought to stay with you. The victim was your biological sister. You repeatedly r*ped her and threatened to kill her if she told anyone.”

PRESIDENT BUHARI REJECTED DEVALUATION OF NAIRA

President Muhammadu Buhari declared late Wednesday in Nairobi that he was yet to be convinced that Nigeria and its people will derive any tangible benefit from an official devaluation of the Naira.

Speaking at an interactive meeting with Nigerians living in Kenya, President Buhari maintained that while export-driven economies could benefit from devaluation of their currencies, devaluation will only result infurther inflation and hardship for the poor and middle classes in Nigeria’s import-dependent economy.

The President added that he had no intention of bringing further hardship on the country’s poor who, he said, have suffered enough already.

Likening devaluing the Naira to having it “killed”, President Buhari said that proponents of devaluation will have to work much harder to convince him that ordinary Nigerians will gain anything from it.

The President also rejected suggestions that the Central Bank of Nigeria should resume the sale of foreign exchange to Bureaux de Change (BDCs), saying that the Bureau de Change business had become a scam and a drain on the economy.

“We had just 74 of the bureaux in 2005, now they have grown to about 2,800,” President Buhari noted.

He alleged that some bank and government officials used surrogates to run the BDCs and prosper at public expense by obtaining foreign exchange from government at official rates and selling it at much higher rates.

“We will use our foreign exchange for industry, spare parts and the development of needed infrastructure.

“We don’t have the Dollars to give to the BDCs. Let them go and get it from wherever they can, other than the Central Bank,” President Buhari told the gathering.

The President reaffirmed his conviction that about a third of petroleum subsidy payments under the previous administration was bogus.

“They just stamped papers and collected our foreign exchange,” he said.

The President appealed to Nigerians studying abroad to bear with his administration as it strives to address the challenges they are facing as a result of new foreign exchange measures.

He said that he was optimistic that the Nigerian economy will stabilize soon with the efficient implementation of measures and policies that have been introduced by his administration.

BEWARE: ANGER COULD WREK HAVOC ON YOUR DAY

Forwarded from an interesting piece: Consider a situation: You're eating breakfast with your family. Your daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You harshly scold your daughter for knocking the coffee cup over. She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your wife and criticize her for placing the cup to close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish breakfast and get ready for school. She misses the bus. Your wife must leave immediately for work. You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late, you drive 80 km an hour in a 60 kmph speed limit. After a 15 minute delay and throwing Rs.500 (traffic fine) away, you arrived at school. Your daughter runs to the building without saying good-bye. After arriving at the office 20 minutes late, you find you forgot your briefcase. Your day has started terrible. As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse. You look forward to going home. When you arrive home you find a small wedge in your relationship with your wife and daughter. Why? Because of how you reacted in the morning.

Why did you have a bad day?
A) Did the coffee cause it?
B) Did your daughter cause it?
C) Did the policeman cause it?
D) Did you cause it?
The answer is D.

You had no control over what happened with the coffee. How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day. Here is what could have and should have happened. Coffee splashes over you. Your daughter is about to cry.You gently say "It's OK honey, you just need to be more careful next time". Grabbing a towel you rush upstairs. After grabbing a new shirt and your briefcase. You come back down in time look through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns and waves. You and your wife kiss before you both go to work. You arrive 5 minutes early and cheerfully greet the staff. Your boss comments on how good a day you are having. Notice the difference. Two different scenarios. Both started the same. Both ended different. Why? Because of how you REACTED. You really do not have any control over 10% of what happens. The other 90% is determined by your reaction.

Here are some ways to apply the 90/10 secret:

If someone says something negative about you, do not be a sponge. Let the attack roll off like water on glass. You don't have to let the negative comment affect you! React properly and it will not ruin your day. A wrong reaction could result in losing a friend, being fired, getting stressed out, etc.

How do you react if someone cuts you off in traffic? Do you lose your temper? Pound the steering wheel till it fall off? Do you curse? Does your blood pressure skyrocket? Do you try and bump them? WHO CARES if you arrive ten seconds later at work? Why let the blue car ruin your drive.

Remember the 90-10 principle, and do not worry about it! You are told you lost your job. Why lose sleep or get irritated? It will work out. Use your worrying" energy and time into finding another job.The plane is late. It is going to mangle your schedule for the day. Why take out your frustration on the flight attendant? She has no control over what is going on. Use your time to study, get to know the other passengers, etc. Why get stressed out? It will just make things worse. Now you know the 90-10 secret. Apply it and you will be amazed at the results."

OGOGORO KILLED 2 PEOPLE AND HOSPITALISED 3 PEOPLE

Two persons have died after consuming local gin; popularly known as Ogogoro, in South Ugieda, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

The incident occurred in Ugieda community on ‎Tuesday.

It was gathered that five of the victims had complained of acute stomach discomfort after taking the substance, which they bought from a yet-to-be identified seller who brought the gin to the community.

“After they had consumed the Ogogoro, they began complaining of stomach ache. Unfortunately, the two died while three are currently hospitalised at the hospital,” a witness said.

Efforts to reach the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Eregie Aihanuwa, were also unsuccessful as she was said to be in a meeting.

However, the Aidonigie of South Ibie, Alhaji Kelvin Danisi, who confirmed the incident, noted that the condition of the remaining victims was critical.

“I got report that two people have died and three others are still critically ill at the hospital. So, we are doing everything to make sure that such things do not happen again,” Danisi said.

“I have already summoned a meeting of all those that are into (the) sales of alcohol and we are going to place a ban on illicit gin.

HUSBAND BEAT UP PREGNANT WIFE FOR REFUSING TO GIVE HIM MONEY

A 33-year-old man, Ekwere Alex was arraigned at an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos for allegedly assaulting his pregnant wife, Ekwere Esther.

According to the prosecutor, Sgt. Ihiehie Lucky, the complainant, Esther, had lodged a complaint that her husband, ‘an applicant, collects her salary every month end.’

The prosecutor alleged that the accused assaulted and battered his wife on January 14, because of her refusal to part with her December salary.

He said that Esther, whose delivery date was near, was paid her December salary and preceded on her vacation.

“The accused chased her with her pregnancy around the house premises and beat her up.

“According to the complainant, her husband threatened to kill her if she dares come back to their house,” the prosecutor noted, adding that the accused had refused to supply his wife with basic needs, knowing fully well that her health and that of the baby were at risk.

The accused of No 5, Owodunni Street, Oworonshoki, is facing a four- count charge of assault, intimidation and failure to supply necessaries.

Lucky said the offences contravened Sections 170, 171, 56 and 245 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the four-count charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs O Sule Amzat granted the accused bail in the sum of N 50, 000 with two sureties who must be gainfully employed.

Amzat then adjourned the case to February 22.

WOMAN DRUGS FIANCE'S AND DISSAPPEAR WITH HIS N295.5M

A 46-year-old woman, Victoria Alaegbu, has been accused of using charm on her fiancé, Prince Hillary Unachukwu and running away with his $1.5 million (N295.5 million).

Alaegbu was said to have administered a noxious chemical substance on Unachukwu last December in Ikoyi, Lagos. The substance knocked him out between 8pm and midnight and gave Alaegbu time to steal the money and lock Unachukwu inside the house.

Unachukwu woke up when the charm wore off and shouted for help.

Alaegbu was later arrested by the police. She was arraigned yesterday at an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on a five-count charge of conspiracy, attempt to kill, stealing, unlawful detention and possession of fake document.

Prosecuting Sergeant Nicholas Akpene said the defendant locked Unachukwu up inside his apartment with a padlock.

The prosecutor also alleged that the defendant had a SIM card with number 07087773669, which was not registered in her name and address.

The registration of the SIM card was done with intent to commit fraud, he added.

Alaegbu denied the charges.

Magistrate S. K. Matepo granted her N5 million bail with two sureties in the like sum.

She ordered that the sureties must swear to an affidavit of means and show evidence of tax payment. One of the sureties should be a relation of the accused.

The case was adjourned till February 10 for mention.

Last Tuesday, the police arraigned Unachukwu’s 22-year-old security guard, Isaac Onoja, for conniving with unknown persons to steal the $1.5 million.

Onoja, from Benue State, had claimed that some unknown armed men forcibly entered the premises and tied him up before stealing the $1.5m from the complainant’s room.

FG TO EARN N2.5b FROM N50 BANK CHARGE DAILY

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has already communicated the commencement of the N50 stamp duty deduction on receipt of financial value of N1000 and above from bank accounts to financial institutions.

However, only transfers from personal account to another personal account, both at the same bank or another bank are exempted from the charge.

With the act already in force, there are projections that the total number of direct cash lodgements in various accounts in banks, the transfer of cash arising from Point of Sale, Automated Teller Machines and mobile money transactions, among others, may hit 50 million in volume per day, with an estimated value of about N2.5 billion daily.

The recently concluded phase of the Bank Verification Number (BVN) project had identified 22 million unique identities in bank accounts, which own over 30 million other accounts spread across the banking sector.

According to the CBN, the stamp duties are deductible on deposits into accounts and borne by the receiving accounts. Yet, another reliable source in the banking sector argued that the revenue earnings capacity of the stamp duties – when estimated moderately, given the improved payments system environment of the country, both in public and private sectors of the economy – shows that there will be no fewer than 25 million deductible transactions per day, which will amount to N1.25 billion daily.

While expressing optimism on the potential return of effective taxation, a professor of entrepreneurship and political economy, Pat Utomi, told The Guardian that there would be the need for caution to ensure that the pace of tax expansion does not depress consumption and growth.

“Nigeria,” he said, “has a challenge with no easy answers. For a long time, oil receipts made taxes an irritation to those who govern. The result was that the citizen was disconnected from holding the public official accountable. Costs in government went crazy. As oil revenue declines and taxation is rediscovered, the needful will be challenged in two directions.

“In one direction, from policy makers we must take care in ensuring the pace of tax incidence expansion does not depress consumption and growth. Still, the financing gap needs to be bridged by an optimal level of borrowing and new taxes.”

Utomi continued: “At the same time, deep cost-cutting in a wasteful system needs to be implemented. In the other direction, citizens need to know that a return of dependence on taxation for governing will reduce uncertainty in the budget process. When Value Added Tax (VAT) was introduced years ago there were issues raised about it but it has been a useful tax.”

The Managing Director and Chief Economist, Africa Global Research, Standard Chartered Bank, Razia Khan, said the N50 stamp duty enforcement was necessary, given the urgent need to drive higher revenue collection of the country. He said there was no foreseeable “detrimental effect on financial access in the long-term.”

Stakeholders have also commended the move, advising however, that to get the best of the policy, the authorities should strengthen the payment system to ensure that most transactions in the economy are routed through the banking system.

According to the Head of Investment Research at Sterling Capital Limited, Sewa Wusu, the move is legal and now adopted due to the circumstances the country is going through, which have heightened macroeconomic issues.

“This is another fiscal strategy to meet budget spending. Transactions are going on everyday in the financial system and this is the more reason to believe that the Nigerian economy is capable of financing itself. Though some will complain, but for me, this is a fiscal response. The act has been there and this shows that there are other opportunities in the economy. This type of law is also obtainable in other jurisdiction.

“No matter what pains we may feel from this policy, we can take it in good faith, at least as a sacrifice to the nation. N50 is money, b

CHURCHES AND MOSQUES SHOULD BE MADE TO PAY TAX- EX MINISTER

A former Minister of State for the Interior, Chief Demola Seriki, says that in the face of the dwindling price of crude oil, churches and mosques that own businesses should pay tax to the government.

Seriki, who was also a supervising Minister of Mines and Steel under the late President Umaru Yar’Adua’s administration, said this during an interview with a Punch correspondent yesterday.

The ex-minister’s call came less than a week after the Federal Government announced that N50 would be deducted from money deposited into any customer’s account as part of the efforts to boost government’s revenue in the face of the dwindling oil price. Continue…
He said religious bodies, especially churches, had built large business empires including universities but many of them were not paying tax.

The ex-minister said the wealth being made from these businesses was used in buying private jets with the government losing out.

He explained that some churches even had rented apartments in their various camps but were not paying land use charge to the government.

He said, “Places of worship such as churches and mosques should not pay tax but when they go into investment outside their main focus, they must pay tax. For example, there are some churches that are into importing and exporting and they are benefitting from the economy.

“You cannot do that without paying tax. They are not paying now. They use the name of the church to escape paying tax. This is wrong.

“Some churches have hundreds of houses in their various camps which they rent out but they don’t pay tax to the government because they are registered as religious organisations and are not paying tax. So, we must change our tax laws.”

SHOULD KOREDE BELLO BE ALLOW TO SIT FOR HIS UPCOMING EXAM

A lecturer has continued to douse the chances of Mavin Records fast rising act, Korede Bello, sitting for the upcoming exams. This is due to the fact that the super star has failed to meet up with the compulsory 70% class attendance set by the school before he can sit for the exams.
To further buttress his point, the lecturer has threatened to resign if that rule is violated.
Report reaching says that even after the music act was informed of his ineligibility to write the exams at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, he allegedly went to meet top officials of the school to find a way out using his star status as a leverage. Right now, it seems even that leverage has hit a stonewall as the lecturer on his case is hell-bent on making good his threats.

PASTOR ARRESTED FOR HAVING SEX WITH HIS STEP DAUGHTER

Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 42yrs old cleric, Pastor Chidiebere Ikpa, for allegedly raping his stepdaughter, Ngozi (real names withheld), in the Surulere area of the state.

Pastor Ikpa, who denied the allegation, said that it was a neighbour, identified only as Richard, that did defile the 14-year-old girl, but he decided not to report the matter to the police because he (Pastor Ikpa) had a forgiving character.

But Ngozi, an SS2 student, who eventually reported the incident to police last Friday, January 15, insisted that she was r*ped by the pastor several times.

The girl added that whenever she told her mother about it, she usually shouted her down, and refused to take any action on the matter.

Pastor Ikpa, who hails from the Bende LGA of Abia State, was arrested by policemen from Isokoko division, while Ngozi was taken for medical examination at the Mirabel Centre, Ikeja.

The test reportedly confirmed that the girl’s private parts had been “tampered with.”

A police source said that Ngozi reported that Pastor Ikpa had allegedly been sleeping with her since she was 10 years old and was the one who deflowered her.

She said, “The victim claimed that the suspect deflowered her when she was 10 years. He had allegedly been s*xually molesting the girl since that time.

“The victim’s mother is culpable because she knew about the abuses. The girl said it was when her mother failed to take concrete steps that she came to the police.”

But the pastor said he flogged the girl last Thursday and she disappeared from the house, not knowing she came to the police to lie against him.

He said, “The girl started living with me when she was 12 or thereabout. That was around 2012. It is not true that I r*ped her. I flogged her on Thursday for being rude and she did not return home after school. We did not see her until Friday. She had been with the police.

“The girl has a boyfriend; his name is Richard. He is the manager of a hotel on Rasak Balogun Street. If the medical result shows someone has been sleeping with Ngozi, then it is Richard, not me.

“It is a mystery to me that the girl is claiming that I slept with her. When we caught Richard and confronted him sometime last year, he started begging. The mistake I made was that I did not report to police.

“My wife got furious and said we must report the matter to the police, but the man started begging, sending text messages to me. I forgave him. I am a pastor.

“I was working under a church, but since I moved to this area, I have not pastored any church.”

Again, Ngozi insisted that Pastor Ikpa was lying and he had slept with her on several occasions.

She said, “The first time that he would r*pe me was about five years ago. My mother sent me to give food to him in his own house. I was then staying in my father’s house. That was when he took advantage of me and r*ped me.

“The man he mentioned is not my boyfriend. Richard was the man I reported to when I told my mother about the r*pe and she did not believe me. Richard advised me to leave everything to God.

“Sometimes, when everyone was sleeping, he would come to the room where I was with my other sisters and he would r*pe me. I would be hitting my sisters trying to wake them, but they did not wake at such times.”

Police investigators are trying to find out the truth. So the question is, who is lying between Pastor and Ngozi?
