DELTA STATE SPEAKER DIDN'T ASK FOR MONEY TO BE PASSED INTO THE 2016 BUDGET- MD

ASABA—MANAGING Director of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Warri, Delta State, Chief Williams Makinde, has said that there was no truth in the allegation that the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Chief Monday Igbuya, demanded N1 billion from the commission to pass its 2016 budget.

Makinde, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant (Media) Dr. Prince Orhomonokpaye, added that he never threatened to resign his appointment over a non-existing disagreement between him and the Speaker, as reported by an online medium.

He said: “The report that the Speaker and members of the House demanded N1 billion to pass the commission’s budget is false and I advise the general public to disregard the report in its entirety.

“The report is aimed at destroying my good relationship with the Speaker and the members of the House, who have worked with us with all sincerity. The Speaker or any member of the House never demanded any money from him me or any member of the board of the commission.”
