MAN UNITED AGREES 3 YEAR DEAL WITH MOURINHO

The three-year deal is reported to be worth around £15m per year, a sum which is said to rival Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City salary in the same way that United chiefs are hoping Mourinho can match his counterpart on the pitch.

The Mirror claim that the club have agreed personal terms with Mourinho, and have agreed to try and bring in Atletico Madrid sporting director Andrea Berta, who is said to be a friend of Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes.

The club’s performances on the pitch have disappointed so far this season, dropping off after some good results at the start of the campaign to lie in fifth place – six points behind Manchester City in the Premier League’s final Champions League spot.

Van Gaal’s Champions League campaigns was no more successful, seeing the team drop out of the competition and into the Europa League without even getting through the group stage, their chances ended by defeat to Wolfsburg.
